Workers' Rights

Mainers deserve a fair economy that works for everyone, with good jobs for everyone who wants to work, where everyone has a decent income and can sustain a family and where all workers can join a union or other worker-led organization.

For too long the economy has been controlled by Wall Street and the richest one percent at the expense of workers, who are increasingly overworked and underpaid.

MPA passed a minimum wage increase referendum in 2016, drove the passage of paid time off in the legislature in 2020 and is working to unite workers across lines of class and race, unionized and non-unionized, to call for a new economy that prioritizes people and the planet over profits and corporate greed.
