Send a Message: Create Jobs, Not Poverty

Blaine House protest - December

Governor Paul LePage has launched a new attack on jobless workers in Maine. Instead of focusing on creating jobs, he’s proposed new cuts to Maine’s unemployment system.

Among other things, his proposal would cut in half the amount of time that unemployed workers have to search for jobs at their prior wage or skill level, eliminate the consideration of childcare and transportation emergencies when penalizing parents looking for work, and, perhaps most troubling, would allow the LePage administration to change work search requirements with no legislative oversight. Now is the time to act.

Please use this form to send a message to the members of the Labor Committee asking them to reject LePage’s attack on out-of-work Mainers and instead focus on creating badly-needed jobs.
