Just hours ago, Senator Olympia Snowe announced she will end her race for re-election. Nobody expected this.

The balance of power in the United States Senate may now depend on Maine.

In the next few weeks and months, we have a chance to directly influence the course of events here and across the nation, but only if we act quickly.

We've seen what's happened in Maine when the extreme, Tea Party wing of the Republican party takes over our government. We can't afford for them to get ahold of a U.S. Senate seat in Maine.

We need a Senator that will stand up for universal health care, for the environment, and for equality for all Mainers. We need a Senator who will stand up against the big banks and corporations and will be on the side of Maine people struggling to get by in a difficult economy.

MPA has proven in the past that we can register more voters than any group or political party in the state. This race may well be decided by new voters and we need your help to gear up.

MPA already has plans to register 5,000 new voters across Maine and to make sure they get to the polls. But now, with so much more at stake, we need to do more.
