Many opposed to TABOR Portland Press Herald Proponents of the TABOR referendum on this fall's ballot claim that only "special interests" could be opposed to it. The Maine Education Association is opposed to TABOR. If your children and their education are special to you, then maybe MEA is a "special interest." The AARP is opposed to TABOR. If your grandparents and parents are special to you, then maybe AARP is a "special interest." The Maine Municipal Association is opposed to TABOR. If the solvency and well-being of your town is important to you, then maybe MMA is a "special interest." TABOR proponents have misidentified the problem. Health insurance and oil companies are posting record profits. Who is really picking your pocket? John Henderson of Auburn is a member of MPA's Androscoggin Valley chapter.
