Looking for a job you can feel good about?

Who we are: The Maine People’s Alliance is the state’s largest citizen action group with over 32,000 members statewide.

Maine People’s Alliance is hiring field organizers in our Lewiston, Bangor, and Portland offices for a historic 2008 campaign to build support for: universal single-payer health care, new regulations to reduce the number of toxics in consumer products, and ending the war in Iraq.  We’ll also be working to register and educate thousands of new voters and make sure they get out to vote.

Qualifications: Excellent communication skills.

Our field organizers will have the opportunity to talk with hundreds of Maine people, organize press conferences, lobby our state and national representatives, and learn what it takes to be a great organizer. We have leadership opportunities available for those that demonstrate the commitment and skills to excel at the job. Pay ranges from $300-$450 per week and there are many opportunities for year-round employment as well.

Interested candidates should contact Charlie Urquhart at our Portland office at: 207-797-0967 or on his cell at: 207-271-1396.  Charlie can also be reached at pfc@mainepeoplesalliance.org.
